Home and School - Minutes from November, 2005

•The meeting was called to order at 6:45. 

 •Prayer was given by Mrs. Lori Voges. 

•Welcome given by Mrs. McInturff who provided the following information:

∙ Mike Schoenborn reported to duty on November 13, 2005. 
∙ Introductions of Mark Simpson the Director of Development in Mike’s absence, and Vickie Stovall, the Academic Coach/Interventionist for OLPH students.

∙ Reminder to all parents to review the Fanfare weekly and to please notify the school of any absences – it’s the law! 

• Tracie Mertel reported on the success of the “Spooktacular” and introduced the Chairperson, Layla Mullins.  Layla thanked everyone for their support and donations.  The event raised $6,456.00 after expenses. 

• Technology Fund:

∙ Allows the school to upgrade computers on a three to four year basis.
            ∙ The fund will permit the Computer Lab to be replaced over the holidays.
            ∙ Special thanks to Steve Sharpe & John Rewcastle for all their help and expertise.    

• Recorder and Hand chimes:

            ∙ Mrs. Grant - Instructor
            ∙ Breathing control and group work will be taught.  You do have to be able to read music.  Charts with letters will be used.
            ∙ Recorder – Monday and Tuesday, 7:30 – 7:45 am.  Yamaha instruments are use provided.
            ∙ Hand chimes – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 7:30 – 7:45 am.  Drop off location is the Madonna Hall entrance by the baseball field.
            ∙ Hand chimes will be a part of mass the first Friday of the month. 

• Breakfast with Santa

∙ Scheduled for November 18th.
            ∙ First seating is 8:15 am.  Volunteers are needed. 

• Development:

∙ Annual fundraiser has been developed.  Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School Annual Fund Drive.  The support will assist with school operations (i.e.…after school activities, advertising, marketing). 

• First grade provided entertainment.
